SMASHWORDS is the world’s leading eBook publishing and distribution platform for indie e.book authors and publishers; once your book is accepted into their Premium Catalog it will be automatically distributed to major online retailers such as Apple, Barnes & Noble, Sony, Kobo, and more.
Kenn Allan believes all writers deserve the opportunity to be published without suffering financially, emotionally, or spiritually.  Until recently, many writers were denied publication for reasons beyond their control, such as market demand (perceived or otherwise) and/or editorial whim.  However, with the introduction of devices like kindle and nook, today's poets and storytellers have been set free to follow their muse without the distraction of a paper publisher's bottom line.

We have collected e.publishing resources from all over the internet and posted the links below.  Everything listed is offered free of charge by the developers and was used by Kenn to publish his e.books on Smashwords and Amazon.com.

Mobipocket Creator

Although this is the program I used to publish my Amazon editions, it probably isn't the best choice.  It's an older method - in fact, the creators stopped issuing updates quite a while ago.  It accepts MS-Word source documents, but it was easier for me to develop my  project in raw HTML.  I would suggest anyone interested in publishing through Amazon's Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) program to visit their community forum and ask other authors for advice.
